Benjamin Hoste, after completing his secondary studies in Latin and Mathematics (8h), chose to study Civil Engineering at the University of Ghent. In 2017, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Dredging & Offshore Engineering.
After earning his university degree, he went abroad to work as Superintendent Dredging Works at Jan De Nul. His responsibilities included the execution of projects in GHANA (Takoradi Port Expansion – port expansion), MOROCCO (Nador West Med – new port) and GERMANY/BALTIC SEA (Nord Stream 2 Project – undersea gas pipeline).
At the end of 2018, he opted for a self-employed career as a Loss Adjuster at the international expertise agency PHACTS, where he profiled himself as a person who thinks constructively towards solutions, and guides his clients through substantial and complex files. In parallel with these activities, he obtained the diploma for the university course INTRODUCTION TO LAW FOR COURT SURVEYOR and passed the exam FUEDI ELAE.
After a pleasant collaboration, he decided to establish a new international expertise agency RATIO Expertise in 2024, in which he intends to further develop his philosophy.
His activities relate primarily to CONSTRUCTION ALL RISK (CAR) and LIABILITY/PI, but also in INTERNATIONAL LOSS ADJUSTING ON- and OFFSHORE.

Geert Hoste, after a study LATIN-MATHEMATICS, took the education INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, combined with 3 years of evening course MECHANIC. In addition, there were the evening courses EXPERT-ADVISOR IMMOVABLE PROPERTY and INSURANCE BROKER.
After 13 years of experience at WTCB/BUILDWISE (scientific and technical center for the construction industry), he was active as a loss adjuster at the international expertise firms Crawford (7 years), McLarens (8 years), PHACTS (9 years) and since 2024 at RATIO Expertise.
His activities relate primarily to CONSTRUCTION ALL RISK (CAR) and LIABILITY.
